IND vs ENG 3RD t-20: Sanju Samson Likely to Break Big Record

This match is very important for Indian wicketkeeper Sanju Samson. We are saying this because he has a chance to beat head coach Gautam Gambhir in this match.

He started the series against England with a fast innings, where he scored 26 runs at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Chasing a target of 133 runs, he and Abhishek Sharma added 41 runs for the first wicket. Abhishek continued batting and scored 79 runs to give India victory.

Samson flopped in the second T20 and was dismissed after scoring 5 runs off 7 balls. India won the second match in the last over thanks to Tilak Verma’s unbeaten innings of 72 runs off 55 balls.

Leaving behind the disappointment of two matches, Sanju would like to play a big innings in the third T20. He has scored 841 runs in 39 T20 International matches so far. He has to score 92 runs in Rajkot to surpass Gambhir in the list of batsmen who have scored the most runs for India in the shortest format of cricket. Gambhir ended his T20 career with 932 runs.

Sanju Samson made his debut for India in 2015. He remained out of the national team for the next 4 years. After returning in 2019, Samson has been constantly in and out of the team. He was a member of the team that won the 2024 T20 World Cup. In the absence of continuous players, he has now confirmed his place in the national T20 team. He scored three centuries in this format last year.
